Everyday Prayer: Let me see myself through the eyes of Your love.
When someone makes it their life mission to make my life a living nightmare, it is so easy to see ourselves through their eyes. And when we do that, we see ourselves as completely unlovable.
Maybe it is because of someone right now. Maybe it is because of someone in your past. But perhaps you are loving yourself through the eyes of someone who wants to do you harm.
When David faced this, he reminded himself of God’s love. Instead of taking on the perspective of his attacker. He took on the perspective of God’s love. And specifically two aspects of God’s love…
- The HUGENESS of God’s love. It reaches to the heavens. It is like the highest mountains. God’s love is HUGE.
- The VALUE of God’s love. God’s love is like a mother hen protecting her chicks under her wing. To that chick, her mother’s love is VALUABLE. It is like being filled from the abundance of God’s house. There is nothing more valuable than the abundance of God’s house!
Fight against viewing yourself through the eyes of someone who wants to treat you horrible. View yourself through the eyes of God’s love.
