Life Point: Seek the welfare of the culture we live in because God has a greater vision.
God again shocked his people by telling them to seek the welfare of the culture they were going. It was a brutal, evil, pagan culture. The religious would want to bunker in and wait out the 70 years. But God said to make the most of where they were. All because this is the pattern in which his people will live for the rest of time. As citizens of God’s kingdom, we’re also citizens of an imperfect earthly kingdom.
How do we seek the welfare of our culture and yet serve the King of kings?
Today’s Reading is from Jeremiah 29:1-14.
